Queen Creek North Stake Pioneer Trek 2023

All Stake Youth who are 13 turning 14 during 2023 through graduating seniors are invited and encouraged to participate in the Stake Pioneer Trek.  The Theme for Trek is "Know them, Know HIM," and will focus on helping the youth come to know their Savior by seeing His hands not only in their own lives but also in the lives of the pioneers as well as their own ancestors, whether or not they were early Church pioneers.

The youth will be divided into Trek Families within their own wards, and will be in the capable hands of a "Ma and Pa" who have been prayerfully selected by the Bishop and trained by Stake leaders.    We will leave the Stake Center the evening of Tuesday, May 30th and travel on chartered buses to the Church's Trek Site in Mosida, Utah.  We will begin trekking on Wednesday morning and conclude Friday evening, at which time we return to the Stake Center on buses.  More details on actual times will be given as we get closer to Trek.

The participant cost is $150, with the remaining funds coming from the Stake Budget.  This should be paid via a donation slip (online or in person) with "Trek 2023" as the category.  Youth are encouraged to earn their funds themselves, and ward leaders are encouraged to help facilitate earning opportunities as needed.

A packing list will be made available in the near future, but the needs will be minimal.  Ward youth leaders will help facilitate the youth making or acquiring pioneer era clothing, which are required by the Trek Site for all participating.  Belongings will fit into a 5 gallon bucket (like a Home Depot or Lowe's bucket), which will also serve as their chair during Trek.  Instructions will be given on how to prepare a seat cushion to go on the lid to make sitting more comfortable.  Besides the bucket they will take a sleeping bag that will go separately into a durable garbage bag with their name and ward clearly marked on it.

Much fasting and prayer has been and will continue to be put into the planning and carrying out of this Trek to make this a fun and spiritually rewarding activity for all involved.  We have felt strongly that this is what the Lord would have His children of this Stake do at this time.  We're excited to share this experience with them.
